Nothing is wasted in life. Our unique life experiences (the good and the not so good) from being born, and through every stage of life brings us all the skills and talents that we need to fulfill our purpose. But very few of us take time to reflect on our life story to get clear on this. So we go about our life being unclear of our natural gifts and genius.
This process will assist you to being to uncover the secrets of your past to reveal you hidden natural genius. You may be thinking you already know your life because you have lived it. But it is not until we begin to consciously reflect on it and put it down on paper that we can re-discover the hidden treasures and start putting all the pieces together.
Method:
Complete the questions below, writing down the first thing that comes to mind. Avoid overthinking it. Just write. Write whatever comes to mind without censoring it or judging it. Let it be a stream of consciousness. Do this in one sitting. Avoid stopping and starting. Allow yourself 30-60 mins to complete this.
For each stage of life write down your memories of yourself and the people around you. Include, as much as you can, the smells, scents, impressions, sights, sounds and feelings. If you get stuck you can refer to the writing prompts at the end of this document.

From the new realisations you have had above, now have a go at writing a statement that reflects your purpose. Your declaration should be in your own words with the following three key elements:
who you help,
personally inspires you to action,
and is part of something bigger than you could never achieve by yourself in one lifetime

Writing Prompts
Use one or any number of these prompts below to help you remember more details about your life and the experiences you have lived.
1. Turning Points
In life, we go through many turning points that disrupt the normal flow of everyday life. This can be the loss of a family member(s), moving homes, our first day of school, graduation, our first job, winning a major sports event, our wedding, our first romantic relationship, retirement, leaving out country of birth, a divorce, losing a job, a significant loss to our financial security, sexual reorientation, etc. Often the hidden gems are in the smaller events that seemed at the time to be insignificant but perhaps had a deep unconscious effect on our psyche.
2. Family Inheritance
Our most life informative experiences come from both the families we grow up with and those we cultivate as we grow older. What is your family story? What legacy did your family leave you? What beliefs and values were imparted on you? How have you let these impact or direct your life? Are they still relevant to you now?
3. Career
What is your career story? Where did you get your first job? What other roles and positions have you held? Have you stayed in the same industry or moved around a lot? Has your main role in life been raising a family? Has your work been solely to get money to pay the bills and support yourself/others, or have you chosen to follow your passion and purpose in your roles? what is your view on working for a living? How do you reconcile what you do with who you are?
4. Money and Abundance
What is your money story? What has been your relationship with money? How has money or the lack of it impacted your life? What family beliefs and values did you inherit about money? Are these beliefs beneficial to you or are they limiting you? What financial losses and wind have you/your family experienced and how has this impacted your decision making, risk-taking, choices in life? What is your current financial situations? Looking back at your life, has it been an abundant one filled with people and experience you have loved or not? If not, why not?
5. Self Image
The way we see ourselves reflects the way we see the world. Has your own self image changed over the course of your life? What is it today? How has your self-image impacted, negatively or positively, on your life decisions and experiences? How have you tried to resolve this?
6. Gender Identity
As a child, how did you see yourself: were you all boy, all girl, a mix of both? As an adolescent, did any of that change? What about now as an adult?
7. Looking Forward
As we get older, we naturally become more reflective. We start to ask ourselves more searching questions: what's it like to die? has life been hard on me or have I been hard on it? What are your thoughts on this inevitable stage of life?
8. Higher Guidance
As we progress through life, our religious or spiritual or other beliefs often change. What has religion or the power of belief meant to you over the years? How has this impacted or informed your life?
9. Wins and Losses
Over the span of our lifetime we experience many wins and losses. We create and end many projects, relationships, jobs, etc. what major wind and losses have you experienced? How have these informed or limited your life view, decisions, and actions? What new goals do you wish to set for yourself? What hold you back from experiencing new accomplishments?
